“DOCTOR WHO” ELEVENTH DOCTOR’S Sonic screwdriver
This 3D render depicts a sonic screwdriver - an iconic prop from British science fiction show “Doctor Who.”
Using actual blueprints of the sonic screwdriver, I was able to practice my sculpting and texturing to create this render.
“STEVEN UNIVERSE” BEACH-A-PALOOZA AND LIVING ROOM
To promote the Steven Universe Beach-A-Palooza Kickstarter, I created a 3D model of the living room from “Steven Universe,” and a mockup of the game. Wider shots and closeups were both tested, but ultimately we decided a closeup would be best. I also tested different lighting sets, with initial renders having more of a pink sunset look, and the final one being much brighter. Although the final render doesn’t show much of the living room, we kept the iconic fireplace in the background.
Later, I created renders of the cards and gems for a few detail shots.

1966 Batmobile statue variants and web graphics
As part of a project to promote older collectibles in our inventory, I created fresh new renders of the 2017 “Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile Statue.” Renders were created of both the red and blue variants, in web graphics for Sideshow Collectibles, and as a lifestyle image for social media use. The statue itself was designed by Dennis Jones and sculpted by Stephan Ehl, and the 3D version was colored and textured by me for the renders.
VINYL TERRORZ: FREDDY KRUEGER
These renders of the Freddy Krueger Vinyl Terrorz figure were created to announce Cryptozoic’s first entry into horror film collectibles. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources including screenshots from various Nightmare on Elm Street films and even the queue from the Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure, these renders gave a moody and dramatic look at the sweater-wearing slasher.
Additional renders were created to show off the packaging, designed by Larry Renac.
BEAUTY SHOTS FOR “EPIC SPELL WARS” 1-5
One of the most common types of render that I do is a beauty shot, or mockup image. Here are a collection of beauty shots from the various “Epic Spell Wars” tabletop games by Cryptozoic. Each one features at least one unique standee, and a variety of tokens and other unique components.
